The Inspiration Behind This Irresistible Pizza Dip
I discovered this wonderful recipe through Rebekah’s blog, Making Miracles, as part of my assignment for The Secret Recipe Club this month. The Secret Recipe Club is a fantastic community where bloggers are secretly assigned another member’s blog and then create a recipe from it, revealing their creation on a specific date. It’s a wonderful way to discover new blogs and experiment with different dishes. This isn’t my first time exploring Rebekah’s culinary creations; I had the pleasure of featuring her blog back in May, when I made her incredible Western Burgers.

The Western Burgers were an absolute sensation with my family! Everyone raved about them, and I’ve since made the Homemade Onion Strings that topped them again and again – we simply can’t get enough of those crispy, flavorful strings! Knowing Rebekah’s knack for creating crowd-pleasing recipes, I had no doubt that this Pizza Dip would be equally impressive. And it certainly did not disappoint!
Simple Ingredients for an Amazing Pizza Dip
One of the best things about this warm pizza dip is that it comes together with common ingredients you might already have on hand. The magic happens when these simple components combine to create a symphony of pizza flavors in a dip format. Here’s what you’ll need to create this bubbly, cheesy delight:
- Cream Cheese: The foundation for that incredibly smooth and creamy base. Make sure it’s softened for easy mixing!
- Mozzarella Cheese: Essential for that classic, stretchy, melty pizza pull. We’ll use it in layers for maximum cheesiness.
- Parmesan Cheese: Adds a sharp, savory, and slightly salty kick, enhancing the overall cheese flavor.
- Sour Cream: Contributes to the creamy texture and adds a subtle tang that balances the richness.
- Mayonnaise: For extra creaminess and a touch of savory richness that makes the base truly indulgent.
- Oregano: The classic Italian herb that gives the dip its distinct “pizza” aroma and taste.
- Pepperoni Slices: The star topping! These crisp up deliciously in the oven, adding a salty, meaty bite.
- Garlic Toasts: The perfect vessel for scooping up all that cheesy goodness. Homemade garlic toasts elevate the experience, but store-bought works too.

The assembly of this pizza dip is as straightforward as its ingredients list. First, a delightful mixture of softened cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, sour cream, mayonnaise, and fragrant oregano is spread evenly into the bottom of a deep-dish pie plate or an oven-safe baking dish. This creates the rich, creamy foundation. Next, it’s generously topped with a layer of savory pizza sauce. Then comes more cheese – because can you ever have too much cheese in a pizza dip? – followed by an abundance of pepperoni slices. It’s then baked to bubbly, golden-brown perfection, allowing all the flavors to meld beautifully and the cheese to become wonderfully molten. Serve it straight from the oven, hot and bubbly, accompanied by crunchy garlic toasts, and watch it disappear!

Tips for the Best Cheesy Pizza Dip
To ensure your pizza dip turns out absolutely perfect every time, consider these helpful tips:
- Soften the Cream Cheese: This is crucial for a smooth, lump-free base. Take your cream cheese out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before you start mixing.
- Quality Ingredients Matter: While simple, using good quality cheeses and a flavorful pizza sauce will significantly impact the final taste.
- Don’t Skimp on Cheese: The recipe calls for layers of mozzarella and Parmesan, and for good reason! This ensures maximum cheesiness and an incredible texture.
- Evenly Spread: Make sure the cream cheese mixture is spread evenly in the pie plate so it cooks uniformly.
- Watch for Bubbles: The dip is ready when it’s hot and bubbly around the edges, and the cheese on top is melted and slightly golden.
- Customize Your Toppings: Feel free to add other pizza toppings! Cooked crumbled sausage, sautéed mushrooms, diced bell peppers, black olives, or even a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for heat would all be delicious additions. Just make sure any veggie additions are pre-cooked to avoid excess moisture.
Serving Suggestions for Your Pizza Dip
While garlic toasts are the quintessential dipper for this warm pizza dip, don’t limit yourself! Here are some other fantastic options:
- Crusty Bread or Breadsticks: Slices of a fresh baguette or warm breadsticks are excellent for scooping.
- Tortilla Chips or Pita Chips: For a different texture and a satisfying crunch.
- Crackers: A variety of crackers, from buttery to seeded, can add different flavor dimensions.
- Vegetable Sticks: For a lighter option, offer carrot sticks, celery sticks, bell pepper strips, or cucumber slices.
- Homemade Pizza Dough Strips: For the ultimate pizza experience, bake some thin strips of pizza dough until crispy.
Storing and Reheating Leftovers
If by some miracle you have any leftover pizza dip, don’t worry – it reheats beautifully! Store any remaining dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, you can either warm it gently in the microwave in short bursts, stirring occasionally, or transfer it back to an oven-safe dish and bake at 300°F (150°C) until bubbly and heated through. You might want to add a fresh sprinkle of mozzarella on top before reheating in the oven for extra melty goodness.
I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones enjoy this incredible pizza dip as much as we did! It’s a truly delightful appetizer that brings all the joy of pizza to your table in a fun, shareable format. A huge thank you to Rebekah from Making Miracles for sharing this fantastic recipe!

Ingredients
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese divided
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese divided
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 15-20 slices of pepperoni
- For the garlic toasts:
- 1 Italian or French baguette sliced thin
- spray or melted butter
- garlic powder
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, oregano, 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth. Spread this mixture evenly into the bottom of a deep-dish pie plate or a similar oven-safe baking dish.
-
Carefully spoon the pizza sauce over the cream cheese mixture, ensuring an even layer. Then, sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the pizza sauce. Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese layer.
-
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through, bubbling around the edges, and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
-
While the dip is baking, prepare your garlic toasts. Arrange the thinly sliced baguette pieces in a single layer on a separate baking sheet. Lightly brush each slice with melted butter or spray with a cooking spray. Dust lightly with garlic powder. Place the baking sheet with garlic toasts in the oven during the last 10-15 minutes of the dip’s baking time, or until golden and crispy.
-
Serve the hot, bubbly pizza dip immediately with the warm, crispy garlic toasts.
-
Enjoy every delicious bite of this ultimate cheesy pizza dip!
