^LOVE IT? PIN IT!^
There’s a universal appeal to chicken and noodles. Whenever I pose questions on social media like, “What was your mom’s signature dish growing up?” or “Which food defines comfort for you?”, chicken and noodles invariably tops the list. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a culinary hug, a taste of nostalgia that transports us back to simpler times and the warmth of a homemade meal. For many, it evokes memories of family dinners, special occasions, and the comforting hands of a loved one. The simple combination of tender chicken and soft noodles in a rich sauce truly embodies the essence of homestyle cooking.
I remember fondly helping my mom make egg noodles from scratch when I was a child. While the process itself isn’t overly complicated, the time spent waiting for the freshly made noodles to dry could feel like an eternity to a young, eager chef. My grandma even continued this tradition, crafting her fantastic meals, including homemade noodles, even when camping – proving that a love for good food knows no bounds. However, in our fast-paced modern lives, dedicated hours for noodle-making are a luxury most of us don’t have. Thankfully, today’s freezer aisles offer an incredible shortcut: high-quality frozen egg noodles that dramatically cut down on prep time without compromising on that essential comforting texture.

Speaking of making life easier, my discovery of Gary’s QuickSteak products has been a game-changer for my meal preparation. These innovative products transform lengthy cooking sessions into quick culinary adventures. You might recall the sensation caused by my Philly Cheese Steak Soup recipe, which utilized their fantastic beef QuickSteak. That recipe was an instant hit, proving how Gary’s products can elevate classic dishes with incredible speed and flavor.
While we adore their QuickSteak beef, many people don’t realize Gary’s also offers a fantastic chicken option! Gary’s QuickSteak Quick Release Chicken Breast Philly Steaks provide a superb poultry alternative to the traditional beef Philly cheese steaks. Made from high-quality chicken breast meat, it boasts a 22% marination that significantly enhances its natural flavors and ensures every bite is wonderfully juicy and moist. This pre-marinated, quick-cooking chicken is not just for Philly sandwiches; it’s incredibly versatile. Imagine perfectly grilled BBQ chicken sandwiches or a lightning-fast stir-fry – it cooks up beautifully in a flash, making it ideal for busy weeknights when time is of the essence.

This got me thinking about the timeless appeal of Chicken & Noodles. Does it truly *have* to be an all-day affair to taste authentic and delicious? Can we capture that same comforting essence using smart shortcuts, without compromising an ounce of flavor? The answer, I’m thrilled to report, is a resounding YES! There’s absolutely no reason you can’t enjoy a soul-warming pot of chicken and noodles on even the busiest weeknight. Or, if you’re making it on a leisurely Sunday, you can let your family believe you toiled away in the kitchen all day, while in reality, you were enjoying a well-deserved Netflix binge – exactly as Sundays were meant to be!

What Ingredients Do I Need to Make Gary’s 20-Minute Chicken & Noodles?
Creating this incredibly quick and comforting dish requires just a handful of straightforward ingredients. The key lies in leveraging high-quality components that cut down on cooking time without sacrificing flavor. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Gary’s QuickSteak Chicken Philly Meat (for its speed and flavor)
- Frozen Peas and Carrots (a convenient mix for essential veggies)
- Frozen Egg Noodles (the perfect shortcut for that homemade texture)
- Chicken Stock (the base for our rich gravy)
- Butter (for richness and flavor)
- Seasonings: Celery Seed, Salt & Pepper, Dried Chopped Onion (to build depth of flavor)
- Flour (to create a thick, luscious gravy)
Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. This is where you’ll prepare your frozen egg noodles according to the package directions, ensuring they cook to a perfect al dente texture.

While your egg noodles are happily boiling away, you’ll start on the heart of the dish. In a spacious Dutch oven or large pot, cook the Gary’s QuickSteak chicken over medium-high heat. As it cooks, use a spoon or spatula to chop the chicken into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Gary’s QuickSteak cooks incredibly fast, so this step will only take a few minutes. For this specific recipe, you won’t need the “WOW Seasoning Packet” that often comes with Gary’s products, but don’t discard it! Save it for another time – it’s absolutely fantastic sprinkled on french fries, popcorn, or roasted vegetables for an extra flavor kick. Once the chicken is thoroughly cooked, add the butter to the pot and let it melt. As soon as it’s liquid, sprinkle the flour evenly over the chicken and stir well, ensuring every piece is coated. This will form the roux that thickens our rich gravy.

Next, pour in your chicken stock, add the dried onion, celery seed, and the frozen peas and carrots. Give it a good stir to combine all the ingredients. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste, keeping in mind the saltiness of your chicken stock. As you continue to stir, you’ll notice the sauce will rapidly transform and thicken into a luscious, comforting gravy in just a few short minutes. The vibrant peas and carrots will add a touch of color and natural sweetness to the savory base.

By this point, your egg noodles should be perfectly cooked and ready. Reduce the heat under your gravy mixture to medium. Drain the noodles thoroughly and gently pour them directly into the pot with the rich chicken gravy. Stir everything together until the noodles are fully coated in the savory sauce and the chicken and vegetables are evenly distributed. Allow it to heat through for another minute or two, ensuring all components are warmed and mingling beautifully. Then, it’s time to serve up this quick and comforting masterpiece!

When it comes to serving this delightful dish, we often love to pair it with warm, fluffy buttermilk biscuits. Their soft texture and slightly tangy flavor make them the perfect accompaniment to soak up every last drop of that incredible gravy. But for those looking to truly elevate their comfort food experience, I highly recommend trying the traditional Amish way of serving chicken and noodles. This method involves spooning a generous helping of the warming chicken and noodles directly over a mound of creamy, whipped mashed potatoes. Talk about ultimate comfort carbs! The combination of textures and flavors is absolutely divine, taking this humble dish to an entirely new level of deliciousness and satisfaction.
